Early Childhood Education in China
In China, children usually begin elementary school at 6 years of age. Generally, there are three types of early childhood education programs for the under 6 age group that parents in China can consider for their kids with programs being provided by both government and licensed private schools:
- Nurseries – under 3 years old
- Kindergartens – 3 to 6 years old
- Pre-primary Program – 5 years old
With Teachers For Asia, the majority of our quality guaranteed schools that deliver early childhood education in China are private Kindergartens, meaning that as an early childhood teacher you will primarily work with kids from 2.5-6 years old.
A high quality early childhood education program is designed to maximise child learning capacity at a crucial point in their overall development. As an early childhood teacher in China, you will help your young students in their language ability, physical development, creativity, social skills development and positive learning habits.
We explain clearly to our teachers, the details of the international school teaching positions we have available, and about each individual school that may be a good match based on what your preferences are. Additionally, we help you to prepare for school interviews, and should you be offered a new international school teaching job we will provide all the support you need from the visa application process for teaching, to preparing to arrive at your new school as well as being there in a supportive role throughout your international school teaching contract. Best of all, we do not charge our teachers any registration fees (or any other fees!) for our international teaching services.
