Moving overseas can be a very overwhelming idea. You have to worry about finding work and a place to live in a country you likely know little about and probably don’t speak the language. My friends and I were so lucky to find Teachers for Asia. I was amazed at how fast and easy we were getting interviews and job offers from great schools all over Asia. Teachers for Asia really takes your needs and concerns into account to find you the best possible match of a school and a location. I couldn’t be happier with my new life in China.

Our partner works with a variety of Elementary and Middle School public schools throughout the city and you will be placed at one of these. They also have several high school subject teaching positions for those with more teaching experience – this is also an option for advancing your career with them. Accommodation is provided by the school along with teaching assistance and culture immersion programmes.

Suzhou ranks highly among China’s most liveable cities, largely because of its wealth and beauty, and was voted the best ‘tourist city’ in 2011. It is famous for its historic gardens (its Classical Garden is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site), network of canals, stunning temples and beautiful pagodas as well as its place in Chinese art history. Suzhou also has a vibrant foreigner community and with a number of Western restaurants and foreigner bars in the city, it’s easy to meet up and join in activities with local expats.
