After teaching in South Korea for 8 years, the decision to move somewhere new was more difficult than I thought – until I stumbled upon Teachers for Asia. I felt like they actually did read through my resume and did take the time to find a job they thought would be a great match for me. After the initial Skype interview/chat, I was put in touch with a company in Vietnam, and here I am! My questions, and there were many, were always answered promptly and clearly. The transition to Vietnam was smooth and simple. Thank you TFA for all your help and support. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend TFA to anyone looking for honesty and support for in finding teaching experiences abroad.

Your school in Vietnam

vietnam-halong-bayYour Vietnamese colleagues and the people here in general are remarkably friendly and welcoming of foreign visitors. When you arrive, there are five days of training and orientation for all the new international teachers who you will be working alongside. From the time you arrive at your new school, you will feel very much apart of the team. The school provides great professional development training for all the teaching staff throughout the year, this can look quite impressive on your resume after you return home.

The work life balance at the school will allow you plenty of time off to enjoy everything that Vietnam has to offer. Adventure awaits with really excellent outdoor adventures. You can explore one of Vietnam’s many national parks and incredible coastline. The country is well known for hiking, trekking, caving and even abseiling. All of which are accessible to even the novice adventure seeker! Many activities and sights can be found just a stone’s throw outside of the country’s main cities.

Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh

In Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi where many of our teachers are based, you can enjoy a more relaxed experience on leafy, colorful streets steeped in history and French colonial architecture. The food here is incredible and some of the best authentic meals can be had for under $3. As remnants of the French era, the Vietnamese are coffee lovers and you will be blown away by the Bánh mì!

Our teachers are mainly located in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. If you are outgoing, energetic and enjoy working with children (approx. 4-12 years) we would be happy to receive your application. Our TEFL jobs in Vietnam are available usually every 8 weeks, so feel free to apply now for our next intake.

Places are limited each month. Apply now and David or Michael will be in touch by email to arrange a brief call with you to chat about your interest in TEFL teaching and a bit more about the placement process in general. In the meantime you can find lots of great info in our China ApplicationsCandidate Resources and News sections.
